Sometimes we fail. We trip, or fall short, or fall off the wagon. It would be nice if our fitness journey was a long string of continuously bigger and better achievements. The thing is, it NEVER happens that way.

Don’t get me wrong, there are times of great progress and gains, but life has a sense of humor (and sometimes a twisted one). In my years of experience in this industry, I have never once heard of a person with a perfect, uninterrupted streak of fabulous workouts that lasted a lifetime. Anyone that says different is lying.

Life is messy. Things go wrong. Roll with it! Focus on yourself for the time that you can, because you never know what’s around the next corner. And don’t you dare take a minor hiccup as a permanent stop! Bumps in the road are only one part of the ride. Try to learn something about yourself from this different angle, and when the time comes, be ready to move on.
