“The man on top of the mountain didn’t fall there.” –Vince Lombardi

“Going with the flow” has its time and place, but not when it comes to your future. If you want a strong future, a life that’s fulfilled, a goal to achieve, you’d darn well better have a plan of attack!

I am telling you right now, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS NEUTRAL. We are either in Drive or in Reverse. The decisions we make on a weekly, daily, and hourly basis are carrying us somewhere. If you don’t know where that destination is, it’s only because you’re driving without a rear view mirror. You’ll still arrive there sooner or later.

If you don’t forge your own path, you are following another by default. Maybe it slides toward diabetes or obesity or osteoporosis or heart disease or teacher arm-who knows? You’ll look around, sometime down the road, and wonder how you arrived at that destination. Maybe the destination will cause you to chart a new course. Good! But the road will be harder then than it is now.

So start something! Where do you want to be in 10 years? 5 years? 3 years? 1 year? What can you do, RIGHT NOW, to make sure you get there? Plan your future! Chart the steps! Keep your vision in sight.

Be active, not passive. Pursue greatness! It won’t be perfect; it doesn’t come with a guarantee, but it won’t be left to chance either. When you leave your life to chance, chances are you’ll lose the one you want.
